In 1893, Gustav Fleischmann took control of the E.N. Cook & Company and started Buffalo Distilling Company. Buffalo Distilling Co made Golden Grain Whiskey, 4C's Canadian Style Whiskey, and Old Tom Gin before closing its doors due to the temperance movement and impending Prohibition.
Today, in the hills outside of Buffalo, where the pavement turns to dirt, Buffalo Distilling Company is hand-crafting One Foot Cock Bourbon Whiskey and One Foot Cock Apple Brandy. They designed and engineered the custom pot still, steam system and mash tank in use at Whiskey Farm Distillery in Bennington, NY.
