by New York Craft Spirits on November 21, 2018

Created in small batches by some of New York’s finest craft distilleries, these 10 NYS spirits are the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving celebration.

Rattlesnake Rosie’s Apple Pie Moonshine
(Fairport, NY)

Bursting with notes of just-baked apple pie, Iron Smoke Distillery’s award-winning Apple Pie Moonshine is created from their artisan handcrafted corn whiskey, apple cider, cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar.

Taconic Double Barrel Maple Bourbon Whiskey
(Stanfordville, NY)

Taconic’s Maple Bourbon is created by first sending their empty bourbon barrels to Catskill Mountain Sugarhouse, who fills them with pure, organic maple syrup. After a few months of aging, the barrel aged maple syrup is bottled and sold, then those same barrels are immediately refilled with Taconic Bourbon. This unique process imparts hints of maple syrup sweetness, butterscotch, vanilla, and baking spice to the final spirit.

Neversink Unaged Apple Brandy
(Port Chester, NY)

Made from a blend of 100% New York State-grown culinary apple varieties, Neversink’s Unaged Apple Brandy is great to sip after dinner or as part of a cocktail. Notes of cut green apples, vanilla, woods, and pear are complemented by a subtle lingering spice on the finish.

Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur
(Brooklyn, NY)

Barrow’s Intense is created from only four ingredients - 200 pounds of fresh ginger per batch, water, sugar and neutral cane spirit - and never any preservatives or chemicals. Vegan, gluten-free, and Kosher certified, this bold, highly aromatic liqueur bursts with the distinctive flavor of spicy ginger.

Harvest Spirits Core Gin
(Valatie, NY)

Distilled entirely from homegrown Hudson Valley apples, Core Gin has a soft floral aroma with a subtle juniper berry tang, complemented by delicate flavors of coriander and lemongrass for a smooth, well-balanced and satisfying finish.

Barking Irons Applejack
(Warwick, NY)

Barking Irons Applejack is a 100-proof spirit crafted entirely from local Jonagold, Macoun, and Gala apples apples. It starts off as a hard cider, which is then distilled at Black Dirt Distillery in Warwick, New York, before it is received at Van Brunt Stillhouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn where it's aged for several months in heavily charred oak barrels.

Kings County Winter Spice Whiskey
(Brooklyn, NY)

This impressive seasonal release from Kings County Distillery is infused with cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, allspice, black peppercorn, clove, and star anise, resulting in a bold but balanced whiskey that's perfect for holiday cocktails.

ESP Noho Gin
(Yonkers, NY)

Made from an exotic blend of botanicals sourced from all over the globe, ESP Noho is distilled with juniper before being infused with saffron, cardamom, and orange. With its beautiful amber hue, Noho creates cocktails as beautiful to behold as they are to taste.

Tuthilltown Indigenous Apple Vodka
(Gardiner, NY)

Indigenous Apple Vodka is crafted from 100% Hudson Valley apples grown at Tantillo’s Farm and other local orchards, just miles from the distillery. After the apples are pressed and the cider is fermented, each batch is distilled two times in order to retain the essence of the apples that were its source.

Southern Tier Maple Aged Spirit
(Lakewood, New York)

Inspired by a classic Caribbean liquor recipe, Southern Tier’s Maple Aged Spirit is made from blackstrap molasses and local maple syrup, then finished in bourbon barrels for a sweet maple and vanilla profile that can be enjoyed on the rocks or substituted for rum in a variety of cocktails.
